In 2008, Michael's first book of watercolors A Very New York Christmas was published. Actress Cynthia Nixon wrote the foreword and said "Michael Storrings's wonderful watercolors evoke so much of the enchantment of Christmas in the city that I felt as a child." The book received rave reviews with endorsements from the likes of Regis Philbin, The Horchows, and former mayor David Dinkins.
Last Christmas, Michael's book A Magical Night before Christmas came out in all Bloomingdale's stores nationwide. With a foreword by Jimmy Buffett, the book was paired with the store's annual Teddy Bear to raise money for the Child Mind Institute.
Michael has 2 separate books releasing this 2011 holiday season—The Three Gifts, with Kathie Lee Gifford—and a 1000-copy limited luxurious gift edition of The Twelve Days of Christmas in New York, exclusive to Bergdorf Goodman.
